Well, hello there and thanks for stopping by! This is the happy little home of my thoughts, inspirations, and oh of course, stories about life and all its experiences Sometimes they are a little lame, but brag-worthy, sometimes they are incredible or downright unbelievable. I’ve been writing blogs on and off for about a decade under a a few different personal blogs. I love to write and share stories with others; I think my writing has come a long way since my blog-beginnings! But beware, I may have a tendency to rant and/or ramble at times. I like my soap box too, at times.
Please allow me to share with you a little about me and my family!
Let’s start off with me. I am Mom, Mommy, Mama, you know, I answer to pretty much anything and everything these days. I’m a stay at home mama, but what seems like a lifetime ago, I worked a full-time professional job in the marketing/green building/architecture field. I’m sure you’ve heard of it before, it’s not some tiny niche, at all! Born and raised in suburban Maryland, smack dab between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., I was lucky enough to go see all Smithsonian Museums and monuments many times as a child, and as an adult. I lived in Maryland throughout my first marriage, and moved to Alabama to be with my current (and last!) husband. Shortly after my move to Alabama, we moved to sunny Florida, which is where we will stay. Now I take care of the kiddos, the house, errands, medical stuff, whatnot. I love to craft – paint, draw, needlepoint, embroider, color, bead, just generally create pretty things. And typically I give them my finished pieces to others.
Then there’s my husband, better known as Dad. We actually met a very long time ago when we were sophomores in high school. We were friends then, and stayed in touch over the years. Fate would have it that we would reconnect in person years later and fall in love at “second sight.” Dad has been in the military for over twenty years, is a devoted Husband, Dad, and friend. He’s the hardest worker I’ve ever seen. LOOOOOVES his children.
Then there are all the kiddos. Let;’ start with the littlest munchkin, Bubby. He will be turning four soon; not so much my baby anymore, and he tell me so, often actually. With thick dark hair, slate blue eyes and infectious personality, he’s going to quite the heart breaker. Bubby is smart as a whip, loves to talk, and is extremely active from sun up to sundown.
The other three beautiful children come from Dad’s first marriage, and are a blessing to have in my life. First, in order of age, is Viv, who is eight and in the third grade. Viv is on the autism spectrum and is non-verbal, however she has an assistive communication device that she is learning to use to help her communicate with the world around her. Viv has the biggest, most beautiful blue eyes you’ve ever seen. When you look into them you can almost sense what she is feeling…almost. She’s adorable, and super sweet.
Then there is my creative and imaginative Em, who is nine years old and in the fourth grade. Em is also on autism spectrum, however it affects her in different ways. She struggles with her speech and language and social interactions. Em is a great artist, and she loves to draw, color and paint. Her favorite activities are playing with her LOL OMG dolls, playing Lego World, and of course, drawing.
And finally, there is Jenn, my teenager, who is sixteen and a junior in high school. She is also on the Autism Spectrum, what they used to consider Asperger’s, but that term isn’t used anymore. She’s an incredible young lady, who is very talented at writing and illustrating her own comics.
